The new K800i is one of the new generation of camera phones that actually take pictures good enough to print ( 3.2 Megapixel ). Having a decent camera in your pocket at all times means never missing those photo opportunities. I certainly have found myself taking a lot of “snaps” again since having this phone.
For some examples of the sort of results possible have a look at my Flickr K800i photos
Most of the pictures here are of my kids, but they will give you an idea of the sort of quality that the K800i is capable of. I have found that outdoor pictures are much better than indoors where graininess becomes very apparent. Another point about indoor photos is that the K800i seems to resist using the flash even in conditions where the light is quite low, resulting in blurred pictures. I assume this is to try to extend the phones battery life as long as possible, although in some cases I would like to be able to override this and force it to use the flash so that I can be sure of a picture coming out ok.
There is a fairly active Flickr photo group for the Sony Ericsson camera phones
which is worth a look if you want to see what talented photographers can do with it too !
Please post your links to your K800i photos as a comment to this message and I will start to compile a links page to show case these.

1It’s amazing what technology can do these days. It wasnt long ago, that the idea of just having a camera intergrated into your mobile was considered high tech. Nowadays, we’re gettinghandsets which offer a whopping 8 Megapixels. Wow. Whats next for the future? 100 Megapixels on a Sony Ericsson by 2020?
